Antepartum Care
No two pregnancies are the same. For the mom-to-be that has a high-risk or difficult pregnancy this time of wonder can be frightening and trying. Trying not only for mom but for husband/partner who may not have all the right tools and knowledge or availability(ie. work) to help. Getting rest, eating and staying hydrated can be near impossible.
During both of my pregnancies I suffered from hyperemesis; which caused complications in my second pregnancy and in both dehydration extreme weight loss and down mood. I understand just how lonely and isolated a difficult pregnancy( emotional or physical) can be-despite the best efforts of family. When you have older children to care for- lack of energy or depressed emotional state ,can leave you with thoughts of guilt and inadequacy. For the mom-to-be who has little to no family support nearby, the emotions can be all-consuming and in all cases the high-risk and/or difficult pregnancy becomes overwhelming. Sometimes just having someone to talk to- play/care for older siblings, go to doctor's visits, or the mall for walk- can make all the difference.
You can count on Growing Baby for knowledgeable emotional support and nonjudgmental understanding. When mom-to-be is cared for in a professional and nurturing environment everyone can relax facilitating progress to being "well again" or the ability to cope. Whether it's caring for the older ones, housework or providing companionship to mom you can be sure your needs will be met.

Antepartum Care is not limited to the difficult pregnancy. Pregnant women cannot move the way they did before pregnancy, nor should they try. Just the effort to get out of bed, take a shower and then get dressed can be exhausting. There is nothing wrong with getting help at any stage in your pregnancy.
